The first official week of 2010 is gone. And that means we've all had one full week to keep our writing goals for the new year. Hopefully we've all stuck to it and have accomplished what we set out to do.
If you didn't make it last week you can always make a fresh start this week or next. After all, with any goal, half of the battle is getting into the habit of whatever behaviors you need to accomplish said goal.
My goal was to write 7000 words per week - so far so good. Actually, I exceeded my goal in the first week. Yeah!
I'm so excited - I love the pages I've gotten done so far. I know I'll get to spots where I'll struggle to get those words in every week and I'm hoping I'll be acclimated enough to my new schedule that I’ll be able to stay with it, no matter the difficulties.
This week hasn't started out so well. As of last night my week's word count was 212. Gotta do better.
I still have time to make it up before the end of the week, but I need to make sure I stay motivated so I can hit 7000 again. It hasn't been hard getting the words on the page when I've been in front of my computer; it's just been hard to sit down in front of my computer.
I went out for Chinese last night and got a great fortune at the end of the meal:
Focus on your long-term goal. Success is soon yours!
What a motivation, I mean, in a fortune cookie! Now that means something! I think everyone should go out and get a fortune cookie to encourage them along the way. And if your first cookie doesn't do it for you - get a second.

Hey, cutie!
Wow, 7000? Nice job! I'm so proud of you! Now to get us together so we can motivate one another to write without the talk (sorry!)
Love those fortune cookies!
Sorry I haven't come by and visited your blog lately! How did the group go? I wish I could've made it. Let me know!!
